The Briglin Pottery in London W1, famous for their rustic pottery and wax resist glazes, was established in 1948 by Brigitte Goldschmidt and Eileen Lewenstein. Dating from the 1970s here is an owl money box and baby owl ornament. They have the typical Briglin dark brown textured glaze with a whitish glaze around their eyes. The moneybox owl has a hollow slot for money and both have hollow holes for eyes. Very tactile pieces. A must have for any Briglin or moneybox collector. Marked to the base of the moneybox with BRIGLIN.
