HOLMEGAARD VIKING CARAFE DESIGNED BY OLE WINTHER 1955
Here is an original blue Viking carafe designed by Danish Ole Winther in 1955 for Holmegaard. It has a stylised viking head embossed into the applied glass medallion.This series of carafes was auto-blown and made to resemble ancient handmade glass and so encompasses internal bubbles and external ripples in the glass. It has a hand-formed lustred pouring spout and a hand-pressed seal.This carafe was discontinued in 1976.
