Here is a fabulous quality casserole/tureen from Hornsea pottery in Prelude pattern. The shape is the same as Contrast which was introduced in the 1970s by the Queensbury and Hunt partnership. However this pattern which consists of black flowers on a light creamy green glaze was introduced in the 1980s and was only in production for a short while. The lid has the same matt brown bands and handle with a thin, white glazed band and two larger bands in the light green glaze. The inside is in a white glaze. A gorgeous colour. Marked to the base OVEN TO TABLEWARE HORNSEA ENGLAND DISHWASHER FREEZER AND MICROWAVE OVENSAFE PRELUDE and to the centre is the Hornsea symbol.
