1960s TONI RAYMOND POTTERY HAND-PAINTED RICE STORAGE JAR
Home — Kitchenalia — Storage jars/containers
A fabulous piece of studio pottery by Toni Raymond dating from the 1960s and hand-painted in olive green and brown bands on a white ground. It has a floral/leaf design painted in brown and dark brown to each side of the scribed Rice. It has a wooden lid with a rubber seal to keep rice nice and fresh. A superb piece for a Toni Raymond collector or lover of quality retro kitchenalia. Looks great on display. We have a Flour storage pot in the same design and colourway although there are slight variations in the leaves and colours since they are all hand-painted. This is the uniqueness of Toni Raymond pottery. Marked to the base TONI RAYMOND and the rest of the mark is close to the edge and difficult to decipher. The top of the word HAND can be seen. However this came with a Flour cannister which is clearly marked to the base. There is also a letter A painted to the base.
SIZE: height 16cm/ 6.3 inches
diameter 10cm/4 inches
WEIGHT: 524 g
CONDITION: Very good. There is crazing which is consistent with age but no discolouring and it does not distract from the overall beauty of the piece. The wooden lid is in good shape but the lacquer has been scuffed on the edge in a line of about 6 cm.
